People Empowered: Jacob

“I went vegan in January 2016. The reason behind the change was that I started to see animals and all living things as equals and deserving of life as much as me, and I noticed my actions weren’t in line with those values, so veganism was a natural fit.”

“The leather is really realistic. When I saw it I thought I’d been sent real leather by mistake! They’re spot on. They’re all really comfortable as well. I’ve had quite a few vegan trainers that don’t fit well before, but these fit perfectly on my feet.”

“Prior to veganism, I was a McDonald’s man and a regular at the Tesco ready meal section! I didn’t cook much, my cooking skills were not extensive at all and it’s only through veganism that I learned how to cook.”

“I’m a sucker for a pint of vegan ice cream: Ben & Jerry’s, Booja-Booja, Jude’s… And in one sitting as well! It’s not a two-day thing. If I’m sitting down, I’m eating it all.”

“I’ve had to overcome many challenges in my life and I feel as if I’ve had to endure each one to make me the person I am today. I’m thankful for all those challenges and what they helped me learn. The fact that I’m able to take difficult situations and get positivity out of them - that’s what makes me feel empowered.”
